(04-03-10) Yet another FREEDOM post...
CG artist Vong yonghow wrote an overview of his experiences working on the Freedom project. The artists used LightWave 3D for this project, but they did not render finished shots straight out of LightWave. According to the overview, "several passes are required to generate the 2D look." Vong yonghow has written more about Freedom, including some nice posts about concept art and art books. This OAV series is available in DVD, HD-DVD, and Blu-Ray format. Fans on a budget can rent Freedom from NetFlix and anime rental services.
